The Life You are Living is God Breathed

In the beginning, scriptures in Genesis 2:7 narrates, the first man Adam was formed from the dust of the ground, to become a living person, The almighty God breathed the breath of life into Adam’s nostril and he became a living person with DNA.

Imagine a lifeless man created from the dust of the ground, that could not breath, talk or do all that a normal human being does until God now breathed into him via the nostrils and the lifeless body becomes a living soul. The human soul also contains the spirit of God that supposed to interact with God in fellowship. That is why the scripture says in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, it says, now may the God of peace make you holy in every way and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. When Adam sinned by disobeying God, the whole man was corrupted, man did not die physically but he died spiritually, remember Adam existed by the breath of life, which is the spirit. The spirit has God-consciousness; it knows God’s voice, fellowships with God, and has a very keen knowledge of God. After Adam fell, his spirit became dead. For the spirit to be dead does not mean that the spirit is gone. It merely means that the spirit has lost its keen knowledge of God and is dead to God. Spiritual death means that there is no more fellowship with God. Consider, for example, a dumb person. It is not that this person does not have a mouth or two lungs. He cannot speak because there is some problem with his mouth. His mouth is dead to the human language. When Adam disobeyed God, his spirit died. The spirit was still there, but it was dead to God and had lost its capacity. When man sinned, this sin corrupted the keen intuitive knowledge of God that existed in man’s spirit so that he became dead to the things of the spiritual realm. Thereafter, man may have religion, morality, education, ability, power, and mental and physical health, yet he is dead to God. He can speak about God, conjecture about God, and even preach about God, yet he is dead to God. He can no longer hear or feel the voice of God’s Holy Spirit. This is why many times in the New Testament, God refers to those who live in their flesh as dead people. Originally, the spirit had the ability to know God and serve Him. Now it had lost all its ability to function and had fallen unconscious. Although it was still there, it was as if it were not there anymore.  Let’s look at couple of bible scriptures to support what we have said so far, Ephesians 2:1-5, says, once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world.[a] He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!).

Colossians 2:13 says, you were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. Adam’s sin made him spiritually dead to God, corrupting his DNA which is passed from generation to generation, so all human race that originated from Adam was corrupted. This is why Jesus was born of incorruptible seed by the word of God that liveth and abideth forever according to 1 Peter 1:23. There is no corruption or sin in Jesus DNA. This is why Jesus born of incorruptible seed must die to redeem man from sin and when we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our dead spirit is now revived or made alive to God once again restoring our relationship to God. So only believers in Jesus Christ are spiritually alive according to 1 Corinthians 2:11, James 2:26 while unbelievers are spiritually dead according to Ephesians 2:1-5 and Colossians 2:13. Remember the life you are living today is God breathed, you don’t own your life, there are two a soul can go to depending on whether spiritually dead or alive, it is called heaven or hell, the choice is yours to make, the soul does not cease to exist after physical death, remember, the soul came from the spirit and will return there depending on which road you are in, road to heaven or road to hell. Jesus died to reconcile us to our heavenly Father, the bible says in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you want to make Jesus your Lord and Personal Savior, please pray this prayer with me:

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

What do you do after praying this prayer is to get your bible and start reading from the book of John in the New Testament, I personally use the new living translation, pray for a bible believing church, ask the holy Spirit to direct you. If you have any questions for me, write it in the comment section. Blessings
